Elderberry supports the immune system to help you stay feeling your best. My Elderberry Kit is a fun and economical way to have delicious and effective syrup in your home.
INGREDIENTS
organic elderberries, organic cinnamon sticks, organic ginger & organic clove.
One kit makes about 32 oz of elderberry syrup.
Just add water, simmer & sweeten!
- DUMP the contents of your jar into a small pot.
- ADD 3 cups of Filtered or Spring water, and stir ingredients in the water.
- SIMMER, stirring a few times.
- Let SIMMER for 30 minutes on low heat. Turn it down if lots of steam is escaping! (Add more water if necessary to keep the water amount at 3 cups during decocting.)
- STRAIN your mixture through a cheesecloth, making sure to RESERVE THE LIQUID. Press out as much liquid as possible from the berries.
- POUR reserved liquid back into the pot. NO HEAT, STOVE TOP OFF.
- ADD 1 cup of local honey or maple syrup to the pot.
- ADD 1 teaspoon lemon juice or Apple Cider Vinegar for refrigeration needed recipe. {makes 28 oz} (Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.)
- OR add 1 cup of brandy or bourbon for the shelf-stable recipe. {makes about 32 oz}
- POUR your finished syrup into your mason jar, and add a sticker label.
DONE!
For Immune Support:
Adults: 1 TBSP daily
Children: ½ to 1 teaspoon daily*
FOR ACUTE CARE:
Take the recommended amount every 2 hours until symptoms subside.
*Do not give children under 12 months of age products containing honey. Use an alternative sweetener like Maple Syrup.
